My name is Bogdan
I come from the Romanian port city of Constanța on the shores of the Black Sea. I have been working as a cook since 2008. From 2010 onwards I have combined my professional activity with seafaring, working for an initial four years on supply and construction vessels in the offshore industry. In 2015, I switched to a three-masted sailing vessel for three years, thus beginning the best seafaring period of my professional career. This way it went back and forth again: After a temporary return to the offshore business, I looked for an opportunity to sign on again on a decent sailing ship and applied for a job aboard the Eye of the Wind. I finally took over the galley in 2021 - unfortunately, in the first weeks and months I was only allowed to cook for my own crew because we didn't have any guests on board yet. Living together on the ship with the other crew members is exactly what I expected and wished for. Through my work on ships, I have seen many places in the world that I have only dreamed of before. However, I have never been to Barbados, so I would like to go there with the Eye of the Wind one day. The Caribbean is a beautiful place to be. |
