In Lisbon, the city of lights at the end of Europe our adventures tour to the „flower island“ Madeira will start.

Portugal’s capital is more multifaceted, confusing and contradictory than many other of Europe’s metropolis. The glamorous streets, majestic places and large parks in French manor characterize the European capital.
Still Lisbon is a historic city, a Potpourri with a special character. Over the past 800 years many different cultures mixed with modern trends and lifestyles have set unique contrasts. Be inspired by this multicultural flair.
Like Kolumbus we will leave the Iberian Peninsula going south west. Until we reach our destination Fuchal we need to spend a few days on the open Atlantic. Especially for people who love sailing this will be a highlight: Wide view up to the horizon, the feeling of never ending widths and sailing under clear sky and stars.
During this time you can take part in a course about astronavigation, practice using Sextans or just relax. If we are lucky we might even be able to see whales.
The Atlantic Ocean is after the Pacific the second largest ocean of the world.
Its name comes from one of Greek Mythology’s titans. As a punishment for taking part in a battle between titans and gods Zeus banned him to carry the heaven’s weight on his shoulders for the rest of his live.
Already the Greek philosopher Plutarch assumed the here „in the outmost west of the world there lie the Elysian realm and the blessed that have been sung about by Homer. Those heroes loved by the gods and given the gift of immortality. If you want to feel this myth of the Canaries or just want to enjoy open water sailing in the deep blue sea and feel the warm wind of the Atlantic you are on the right tour.
The „Isla Bonita“ (La Palma) is the green jewel in between volcanoes and ocean. on very little space you will experience the most different landscapes such as dense cloud forests and dry coastal areas. Relax and enjoy the stunning view on this beautiful landscape.
El Hierro the most southern spot in Europe is the smallest, in earth´s history the youngest and at the same time most original of the Canaries.
On this island you can not only find a „Oasis of quietness“ but the island also fascinates by its landscape and geological variety.
Teneriffa’s narrows is the ideal spot for whale watching. 21 different kinds of dolphins have been seen here before six of them all of the time. The most common are tall tumblers. Also deepcrest beaked whale are often close to the coast. Sometimes even tall whales like pot whales, finbacks and sei whales can be seen.
In between La Gomera and Teneriffa there is a unique population of about 500 short fin pilot whales.
Already the famous natural scientist and geographer Alexander von Humboldt was overwhelmed by Teneriffa’s beauty.
This gorgeous island overtopped by Spain’s highest mountain which is the Pico del Teide (3.718 m). Next to the bizarre rocks of Caldera, pinewoods and fertile valleys dominate the landscape which is also characterized by blooming Bougainvillea, Hibiscus and Poinsettias.
Experience the Canarie’s beauty on board of the “Eye of the Wind” and follow the tracks of Kolumbus and Humboldt.
